First published in 1978 as Disco News, Dance Music Report was an American twice monthly music magazine focussing on the music played in nightclubs and for radio DJs who promoted dance music. It continued to be published until 1992. Alongside reporting about dance music, DMR published various charts, including a Hi-NRG chart, throughout the 80s.

Above is a scan of DMR’s Hi-NRG top 80 for 1989, and below is the typed out chart.

  1. Finally! I found out where “I’m Not in Love” by George Monroe charted. I knew it had to be 1989 because both Hot Tracks & Razormaid released new remixes that year.

Thanks Jamie for solving the mystery.

  2. At last, there’s “I’m Not in Love” by George Monroe at #6 for the year. I knew that it had to have charted in 1989 because both Hot Tracks and Razormaid released remixes of the song that year. Finally I know for sure.

    Thanks Jamie for confirming it.
