Billboard Hot Dance Chart 29th June 1985
The Billboard Dance chart would often have a very good showing of Hi-NRG, as well as Synth Pop tracks, unlike the British mainstream dance clubs, which focussed their music policy mainly on soul and black music. I love the compsirons between this Billboard chart and the Hi-NRG charts above, showing that tracks that started off in gay discos, like Dead Or Alive, Natalie Cole, Fun Fun and Al Corley from the chart below, had more chance of beoming mainsteram in the USA, whereas in the UK, these tracks remained firmly in the gay clubs and failed to get much mainstream interest or play at all.
