This Billboard Hot Dance Chart from the second week of October 1984 is a fabulous compliment to the Hi-NRG tracks being played in by DJs British gay clubs. Sheryl Lee Ralph’s ‘InThe Evening’ became one of the most enduringly popular gay disco hits of all time, whilst from this chart, DJs would mix the likes of Diana Ross, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Laura Brangan and Maria Vidal into the current stock of Hi-NRG tracks.
