This Billboard Hot Dance Chart from the second week of September 1984 is a fabulous compliment to the Hi-NRG tracks being played in by DJs British gay clubs. Ray Parker Jr’s ‘Ghostbusters’ movie theme and Stephanie Mills’ ‘The Medicone Song’ were hugely popular in the gay clubs where the DJs would mix them into the current stock of Hi-NRG tracks from the likes of Evelyn Thomas and Sheryl Lee Ralph, which were also entries in this chart.
