This Billboard Hot Dance Chart from the third week of July 1984 is a fabulous compliment to the Hi-NRG tracks being played by DJs in British gay clubs. I’ve heard Pop Rock tracks such as Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing In The Dark. and Z Z top’s ‘Legs’ added into Hi-NRG DJ sets from the time – and they fit pretty nicely into the Hi-NRG vibe of 1984.
