The Billboard Dance chart would often have a very good showing of Hi-NRG, as well as Synth Pop tracks, unlike the British mainstream dance clubs, which focussed their music policy mainly on soul and black music. In this Billboard chart, there are plenty of tracks that burned up the floors in the gay clubs in the UK, whilst the likes of Patti Austin’s ‘Rhythm Of The Street’ and Kim Carnes ‘Hurricane’ also found their way into gay club DJ mix sets.
