These Billboard Dance charts have a great very good showing of Hi-NRG, as well as Synth Pop tracks, unlike the British mainstream dance clubs, which focussed their music policy mainly on soul and black music. Stephanie Mills, Hazell Dean, Lipps Inc., Waterfront Home, Earlene Bentley and Modern Rocketry all first broke in the gay clubs, and in the UK at least that is where they firmly remained failing to get much mainstream interest or play at all.
