  1. Did “I’m Not In Love” by George Monroe ever chart on either the Record Mirror, Italo or DMR HI-NRG charts? I know it was originally released in Europe in late ’86-early ’87 but it was also re-released in 1989 (same mix) and appeared later that year on several remix services (Art of Mix, Razormaid, etc.). I moved to Long Island, NY in 1989 and most DJS were still playing it there in early 1990. Yet I can’t find where it charted. Can you help, Jamie? I’d sure appreciate any information you can provide. Thanks.

    1. It didn’t enter the Record Mirror chart at all, either in 86 or in 89. It doesn’t appear in the Dance Music Report Hi-NRG Top 80 charts for 1986, 1987 or 1989 – although I can see it being quite a ‘Sleaze’/’Morning Music’ track.
I don’t remember in being played in the clubs here in the UK.
I didn’t know the track so I checked it out – it’s got a fanatstic synth arrangement – so thank you for alerting me to it. I might buy a copy and put it on my YouTube channel and see what reaction it gets there and if anyone remembers it!

      1. I can’t seem to find that it charted anywhere. Yet it was reissued, was on several different remix services in 1989, and got a fair amount of club play in Long Island and Fire Island. A couple of 12″ stores even stocked it. (That’s how I got my copy of the German ’89 reissue.) Maybe it was just one of those imports that some DJs played but didn’t report. If you come across any more info, please let me know. Thanks.

      2. If I find anything else about the record, I’ll post it – but in the meantime, thank you for pointing me in the direction of a great record I didn’t know about!
