Jocks Magazine Hi-NRG Chart Autumn 1986

Jocks Magazine started as an industry magazine for British DJs and ran from 1986 to 1991. In these early years, the magazine concentrated mostly on DJ equipment and the world of mobile and radio DJing, rather than dance/club culture. Interviews were mainly with the leading Radio One and provincial DJ stars like Steve Wright, Tony Blackburn and Chris Tarrant. The magazine contained numerous dance charts, including an American Hi-NRG chart like the one published here from autumn 1986.
Jocks Magazine struggled to keep up with the emerging dance scene in the UK, following the rise of House and other dance music forms towards the end of the 80s. In 1991 Jocks morphed into the higely successful and influential DJ magazine.
