Although a top 30 was not published in Record Mirror for the Boystown Disco charts in 1982 as they were in subsequent years, I have managed to create a top 30 from the 1982 charts already published on my blog.
Using the same methods that James Hamilton and Alan Jones used when compling the charts, here are the top 30 Boystown Disco tracks from the Record Mirror chart entries of 1982.
Below the chart is a link to a mix I recently made and published on Mixcloud, influenced by tracks from these 1982 charts, containing 27 tracks from this early 80s period to show how the music was evolving from the orchestrated and funky disco of the late 70s into a more rigid and synthesised sound that would become Hi-NRG in the following years.
